Number 2. This is my second favorite photo of all time. This was an earlier photo that I took and was stunned by how it turned out. I'd been learning a bunch of techniques and field knowledge up to this point and this is where my hard work led me. This was taken just about a month after getting my full mirrorless set and and made me realize I might just be able to do this for real. Whether I do or don't this photo truly marks the beginning of my photography journey.

My favorite photo I've taken. This is of a King rail showing her new born how to hunt. On the way to my normal spot near here, I walked this road and literally found these guys open on the bank. I watched for 20 minutes until they dipped into the reeds and re-positioned on a small opening. Just in case you know? Turns out they came straight out and I saw the juvenile catch it's first fish of the day. The mom walked over and I captured this still. This got me in love with rails and under photographed birds/interactions in general and would go on reignite my passion more than any other photos ever.

This is a huge flock of Snow Geese on the beach while 30mph winds hit me in the face for hours straight. These birds were so hard to approach. If you walked up to them normally they'd fly away, but how about instead of walking close you were a footba

This is a huge flock of Snow Geese on the beach while 30mph winds hit me in the face for hours straight. These birds were so hard to approach. If you walked up to them normally they'd fly away, but how about instead of walking close you were a football field away... SO I along with a friend bear crawled maybe 200 meters over the span of an hour or 2, getting sprayed down by sand just to get these in range. I took portraits and close ups and flight shots, but out of all of them this wide shot is the one that means the most to me for sure.

I legitimately sprayed and prayed as they slowly turned around and somehow got one of my favorite macro photography photos period. This was my favorite photo of this injured goose. It really just speaks to me.

Anyways every spring I have a spot when I just sit in waders right as spring starts and watch these guys for hours on end. I feel like to a lot of people they are cool but they have such a fun mix of personalities. Some males are really curious and some of them are aggressive towards everything on earth. I feel like this image encapsulates what I love about this species. Cute lil guy.

This was my man crush Monday on my most recent trip with family to Norcal. I had to look through so many lists just to find places with a small number of Pelagic corms, then we had to make time to go to every location and make sure it was possible to take photos at. I finally found a spot with potential for photos after looking at every checklist and the spot I found wasn't even at one of these checklists. Just goes to show that hotspots aren't everything and sometimes it just takes knowledge of the bird and it's habits to find them.

We were searching for about an hour or 2 with no luck. Not even a single call. So we were leaving when we made one last stop at this roadside pull off to a fireroad. When we got there we here tons of frogs. We look and see a puddle with 30 or so frogs in it and got super distracted taking photos of them instead. We used cheap walmart headlights to do lighting and just enjoyed ourselves.

And SOMEHOW I managed to get the perfect pose, light, background and sharpness. I don't even understand but hey good technique is very important.
